​Todays tutorial was really good, we were just with fashion which was really nice, and helpful. I have found it really interesting exploring one pattern piece pattern cutting, I have created a bodice which I am really happy with as it is very effective. I will continue to explore this style of pattern cutting on a larger scale. I am beginning to like this project  a lot more now that I am focussing on pattern cutting.

​Todays tutorial has given me a lot to think about for the industry awareness project. As I want to go into bespoke bridal wear when I finish uni it was really helpful getting to talk to Laura about it and what I can do to help me get there. I have quite a lot to do for the presentation in a couple of weeks but I now know exactly what to include and am happy getting on with it. 

​Today we had a refresher on InDesign, I found this really helpful as it was one of the only things I missed last year (stupid cold!) it was a really useful session as I learnt a lot of the basics and then began to advance the skills as we went a long. I now feel like I have a bit of confidence using this software, I will keep practising what I have learnt until I am more confident.
Todays group tutorial was really helpful as I feel like we managed to discuss everything that we are enjoying but also everything that we are struggling with, especially the essays. I have been really struggling with my essay, essay writing doesn’t come very naturally for me and I feel like we have had no support with it so far.

​I have finally found an idea to run with, I am going to focus on pattern cutting, I created a front bodice with jigsaw shaped patterns, I then inserted zips so that you could remove one of the pieces, this was quite exciting when it finally worked as it showed it was actually possible. This is something that I would like to continue on a larger scale however I think I might struggle with bulkiness of the zips running through.

​I am really happy with all of the sampling I got done this week as I feel that it has taken my project down a different road, it was really interesting printing with melted plastic bags, something I think I might do more of.  

​Today in my fashion directions project I was able to conduct some research which I feel may prove helpful despite not being totally sold on the idea of working with plastics as it harms the environment and being centred with sustainability within my aesthetic. I therefore think I would find it difficult to work within a sustainable outcome. I will continue my research and begin find a more eco friendly of working.
