BA2a project 1: Bespoke Tailoring Briefing
Today we received the briefing for the first project in BA2a, it is the bespoke tailoring unit, I am really looking forward to starting this unit. I have always had an interest in the bespoke side of the industry and it will be really interesting learning the bespoke methods of production so that I can improve on my technical work.
For my work I have decided to look at the movement of water for my inspiration as well as bringing in research for a military influence. I have started work for this week mainly just researching at the moment, but also working on my moodboards for Thursday's session.

Today we had some class discussions about sketchbook development which I found very helpful as it gave us an idea about how we should lay out our sketchbooks to make them as professional as possible, it was also interesting to see some past examples to give us a better understanding, I know that I will definitely be using what I learnt today to influence my sketchbook.

wednesday

I took today to do a lot of independent research and prep work of my mood boards for tomorrow, I have began exploration for my colour palette today and I have decided to take the route of blues and greys, this will help create a soft and coastal feel to my 2 piece outfit, I also finished my other moodboards, I am really happy with how they look and I feel like they explain my ideas for everyone, I will have to see what everyone says tomorrow to help with my ideas but for now I am happy with the direction that I am going in.

Thursday

Today I had to present my mood boards, I was actually quite looking forward to doing this as I thought it would be interesting to see what everyone else was getting up to and to see how everyone's ideas where developing and also have some advice on mine and where they think mine should go. I felt so nervous before I presented in fact my heart rate was so high that my watch thought I was doing physical exercise!! Hopefully I can get that under control the more I present which seems to be quite a lot this year.
I found that my feedback was really helpful and interesting, I was advised that my colour palette was a little bit too predictable and that I should perhaps look at working with another colour at first I was quite disappointed with this but now I have taken a bit of time to think about it I completely agree, and a lot of the projects that I do whether they are for uni or for myself they end up having a blue colour palette and as I don’t want to be that predictable I am going to try and stay away from the blue for now. It was suggested that I could look at lava as it still has a fluid movement not quite the same as water but it is still a liquid that moves, and this could give a very interesting colour palette, one in which I am looking forward to exploring.
